About Us
The Breastfeeding Network (BfN) is a registered charity based in the United Kingdom.
We support mums to breastfeed for as long as they want to, be that one day, one week, one month, one year or more.
We aim to be an independent source of support and information for breastfeeding women and others.
BfN aims to:
- Promote breastfeeding and a greater understanding of breastfeeding in the United Kingdom.
- Collect and disseminate information on breastfeeding and baby and infant nutrition.
- Provide information and support to parents on the feeding of babies and infants.
- Set and encourage the acceptance of quality standards for breastfeeding support.
- Establish and publish codes of practice for such support.
We do this via offering good quality peer support to mums and their families in hospitals and maternity units, in local communities through drop in groups and at home, and via telephone helplines, including the National Breastfeeding Helpline.
